London Overground is currently jointly run by MTL (港铁) and Deutsche Bahn (DB) - although Arriva, which is a DB subsidiary company managed the railway services on their behalf.
Arriva, who took over the North of England Passenger Rail Franchise at the beginning of April, will start running London Overground next month.
The contract is expected to run to 2024 with a potential further 2-year extension.
From 2018 new trains will be introduced on the route out of Liverpool Street as well on the Gospel Oak to Barking Line, by which time current improvement works will have been completed and the line reopened.
