West Hyde Victory. A group of us from West Hyde and Maple Cross have just returned from County Hall. We went to speak out against the Pynesfield gravel extraction planning application and to try and persuade HCC to refuse it .We spoke out against the destruction of the green belt, the environmental damage, flooding and increase in HGVs. We succeeded - only one member of the HCC voted in favour. Hurrah!…………………………………………………..……………………………………

- Rickmansworth & District Art Society in the reception area of Three Rivers House (the council Offices) Reg Crouch who has been taking art classes locally for many years will be displaying an eclectic mix of his colourful oils and acrylics during May. Demonstrations by experienced artists are on the first Thursday of every month at the Cloisters Hall, The Cloisters, Rickmansworth, Herts WD3 1HL from 7.45 to 10 PM
- Artistsmeet at Watersmeet 'Young Masters' Rickmansworth School have an interesting selection of their artwork.
- Ricky Green Social are a group from Rickmansworth who meet on the first Saturday every month to socialise and work on greening the area. Meetings take place at the Cafe in the Park at the Aquadrome - 11.00am to 1.00pm.

- Ricky Folk meet at 8.15pm in the back bar of the Conservative Club, Bury Lane on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.You can sing, play or both or simply come and listen. No entrance fee and drinks are at club prices. In exchange for the facilities they entertain members of the Club at summer events each year and participate in other local events.
- Three Rivers Museum in Basing House next to the library, have new displays featuring the Great War & St John's Ambulance - Museum open Mon to Fri 2-4pm, Sat 10am to 4pm. Free. Support you local museum.
- The Mill Photography Club holds fortnightly meetings on Fridays at the Mill Cafe, Methodist Church, Berry Lane. WD3 7HJ. The club welcomes new members, we meets from 10am to 12am at the cafe to discuss & practice improving our basic photographic abilities. If you have a camera, come along & give us a try, no fees or costs.
- Croxley Camera Club is the photographic society for Three Rivers district and is known as the friendly club. They have a range of photographic interests and skills within the club with photographic advice available from specialists in many genres including nature, landscape, studio and other areas. They meet every Thursday between September and May (starts 3rd Sept) in the Croxley Green Community Centre at 7:30 for a 7:45 start.
