In a decision by the electorate on Thursday 5th May 2016 the Watford Liberal Democrats were rewarded with seven additional council seats and judgement was handed down on the Conservative's lamentable perforformance in government after just one single year of trying to cope on their own.

With shambles after shambles, U-turn after U-turn, internal division, cruel social policies and massive cuts to local council funding, voters signalled in no uncertain way that they had had enough of Tory attacks on Britain's social fabric.

Chris White the Liberal Democrat candidate for Police & Crime Commissioner has said that if he is elected he will restore democratic control over the role. Currently meetings are mostly behind closed doors or in front of a pointless panel that has no real power.

Chris said "If I am elected there will be a committee of councillors from across the county invited to challenge my proposals and to agree, amend or oppose them. This will meet in public and its meetings will be available on webcam online."

The renovated Ebury Play Area was officially opened on Friday 8th. The number of families who came along was fantastic, estimated at about 500 people large and small, and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Do have a look, and a go on the equipment if you haven't been already. It was such a treat to see the children taking turns, trying new things and enthusiastically joining in with other groups.
