  • The Twist Wigginton Pool
    Article: Mar 5, 2017

For some time, The Twist in Wigginton, has had a section of roadway which has sunk and produces a pool of water after every shower of rain.

This damages the highway and annoys road users and residents.

It was pointed out to highway engineers about 3 years ago and has now been put on a list of drainage works to be carried out in the area.

Carriageway drainage and patching work will take place in The Twist, Wigginton between Westbere Lodge and Ashcombe House on a day between 13/03/17 and 17/03/17 between 0930 and 1600.

Please look out for the yellow noticeboads for the exact time and please remember that highway work is weather dependent.

Please do not leave a car parked in this stretch of the road on the day of the works.

    Article: Mar 1, 2017

Baroness Bowles of Berkhamsted has just sat down in the House of Lords having delivered a fine, detailed and balanced speech about the importance of retaining UK's membership of the international atomic power safety and development organization, EURATOM.

The May government believes we should leave this practical and useful example of co-operation.

It is however crucial to the safety and development of our nuclear power industry.

It also underpins a considerable amount of research and development work of world-class quality within British universities and UK government institutions.

    Well done Sharon!

  • EU Funded Electric Charging
    Article: Feb 20, 2017

The popularity of all-electric vehicles is growing all the time. When visiting Aylesbury last week to sound out the possibilities for upgrading his Nissan Leaf to a new 30 Kilowatt-hour capacity model, Nick Hollinghurst who has been driving an all-electric car since August 2015, was pleasantly surprised.

The Brexit-induced fall in the value of the Pound has been partially off-set by a fall in costs as battery manufacture expands meaning little or no cost increase like-for-like. This has all been helped by an upsurge in demand for all-electric vehicles - and with good manufacturers' offers still around it has meant that a range-enhancing upgrade is affordable.
