    Article: May 9, 2017

Christopher Townsend, a long time resident of Tring in the South West Herts Constituency, has been a Dacorum Borough Councillor for 8 years and currently serves on Tring Town Council. He is now to stand for Parliament as the Liberal Democrat Candidate on June 8th.

Christopher Townsend opposes Theresa May's reckless pursuit of a "hard Brexit" and sees the government's policies as threatening jobs and... the economy.

He wants to see the use of UK's overseas territories for tax avoidance reduced by further changes to the existing tax regulations. Money from reduced tax avoidance could go towards supporting social services and the NHS.

Christopher believes that the UK's core values of liberalism and tolerance are under threat. "This election gives you the chance to stand up for tolerance," he says.

He points out that the Lib Dems have proved themselves to be reliable and competent in government.

Christopher has experience in local government and in the world of finance and commerce which he can put to good use in serving you as your next MP.

Door stop callers crime prevention reminder from Hertfordshire Police.
Distraction burglary means quite literally that a criminal will gain access to your property under false pretences and attempt to distract you while they or a colleague carry out a burglary. Police advise never letting anyone you are not expecting into your home, whatever excuse they may give. If you are not sure, don't open the door and call police if you feel the caller is suspicious. You can help prevent your neighbours from becoming victims.
